The Central Texas Veteran’s Health Care System (CTVHCS), Temple, TX is accepting applications for a full-time Emergency Room Physician on the Ambulatory Care Staff. Candidates must be US citizens, possess a valid and unrestricted license in any state, and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or a Primary Care discipline. CTVHCS is affiliated with Texas A&M Health Science Center, and applicants must be qualified for academic appointments and teaching affiliations.

Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of veterans which may include patients requesting/requiring care from medical/surgical, Intensive Care Unit, psychiatry and substance abuse, treating outpatients, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, determining need for hospitalization at this facility or transferring to another facility. Must complete clinical reminders and meet performance measures. Duty hours will include nights and weekend shifts.

The Temple campus of CTVHCS is located 65 miles north of Austin. It serves as the acute care referral center for Central Texas, which serves a large veteran population in the Waco and Austin areas.
